Thursday, June 4th we celebrate Buddha’s first turning of the Wheel of Dharma (Dharmachakra), when Buddha gave the very first Dharma teachings in this world. Through this historic, auspicious deed, countless beings in this world now have the opportunity to practice completely reliable methods that lead to true, lasting happiness. Thank you Buddha for your inconceivable kindness to the people of this world.​

On this auspicious day, Tushita KMC and Meditation Centers around the world will gather together with a special retreat to connect with the blessings of Guru Sumati Buddha Heruka and remember our Founder, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

Every day we remember the extraordinary kindness of Venerable Geshe-la, our Root Guru and Founder of the New Kadampa Tradition, but on this auspicious day, with minds of rejoicing and gratitude, we will offer him our faith through using the special prayer Request to the Holy Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso from his Faithful Disciples and collecting our Guru’s name mantra in a one-day retreat.

There will be three sessions of retreat using the sadhana The Hundreds of Deities of the Joyful Land According to Highest Yoga Tantra and the special request prayer. In the evening, the retreat will conclude with Offering to the Spiritual Guide. In each session there will be time for meditation and to recite Venerable Geshe-la’s name mantra.
